Great value for money, cozy room, and friendly staff. The location was a bit secluded, but the shuttle service made it easy to get around.
The breakfast selection could use a bit more variety.

During my recent stay at a cozy shelter in Hakuba, I had the most amazing experience. The atmosphere was warm and homely, making me feel right at home. The host, Gaspard, was incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that all guests felt welcomed and valued. He even went the extra mile to provide helpful information and recommendations, making my trip all the more enjoyable. The bed was extremely comfortable, guaranteeing a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring. Plus, the food served at the shelter was absolutely delicious - I couldn't resist indulging in the Japanese dinners prepared by Jaco. The cherry on top was the free shuttle service provided by Gaspard, making it easy to access the ski areas and even the supermarket. Although the location was a bit isolated, the cozy and relaxed atmosphere of the shelter made up for it. I highly recommend this shelter for anyone looking for a home away from home in Hakuba.

My stay at The Bohemians' Shelter was absolutely amazing. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of a close-knit community of fellow travelers. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it easy to connect with interesting people from all over the world. The staff, particularly Gaspard, went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. The dinners served were not only delicious, but also filled me up with nutritious meals after a long day of exploring. The cozy lounge provided a great space to relax and socialize, and the breathtaking mountain views were the cherry on top. The shuttle service to the slopes was incredibly convenient, allowing me to easily access different snow fields around town. Although the location was slightly inconvenient, Gaspard's efforts to make up for it truly made a difference. The only minor downsides I experienced were the slightly noisy bunk beds and the thin mattresses. However, these did not significantly impact my overall experience at the hostel. I would highly recommend The Bohemians' Shelter for its friendly atmosphere, great value, and unforgettable experience.

The shelter is beautifully located in the forest, offering a peaceful and serene ambiance. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of Hakuba valley from the house. the communal areas, like the kitchen and living room, create a cool atmosphere for socializing and sharing snow experiences.
The house is a bit far from the slopes, requiring a 10-20 minute drive to reach the resorts.

The hostel's interior was surprisingly gorgeous, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. the staff was helpful and friendly, always willing to assist with any needs or questions. - the shuttle service provided by the owner was a great convenience, offering transportation to local bus stops and ski slopes. - the meals served at the hostel were delicious and reasonably priced, providing excellent value. - the common/living room area created a warm and social environment, making it easy to meet and interact with fellow guests.
The beds were quite firm, which might not be comfortable for everyone. There was only one shower room, which required guests to be quick to avoid waiting times.

Great value for money and amazing hosts. The chef was incredible and the vibe of the accommodation was really nice. Free daily shuttles to the slopes and back, with the option to be picked up and dropped off from the bus/train. The kitchen was well-equipped with beautiful Japanese crockery. The rooms were warm and comfortable.
The bunk beds were a bit noisy and could be more rigid. The mattresses were slightly thin, which affected the overall comfort.
